Academic Background and Work Experience

Prior to her PhD, Franziska completed a double-degree Bachelor in European Business with a major in Finance. Followed by that, she pursued a Masters in Management degree at NOVA School of Business and Economics while working in a compliance position at a digital asset custodian. Her main research interests are the regulatory aspects of digital finance.

Franziska’s PhD thesis explores various aspects of the tokenisation of real-world assets with a focus on regulatory alignment. Her research explores the representation of existing asset classes as digital tokens and novel market infrastructures to facilitate their transactions. The focus is on identifying areas where discrepancies exist between regulatory practices and new digital financial markets. The insights of this thesis will provide valuable guidance for policymakers and market participants navigating the digital asset landscape.
