Thesis Topic

Blockchain Risk Management for Institutional Business

My thesis topic deals with creating a clear understanding of the risks in a Blockchain System. It helps unlock the conversation for institutional players to openly engage with the new technology. This engagement could take the form of either launching, participating or investing in blockchain-based projects. In either case, the stake for institutions is often much higher. With potentially grave consequences, the demand for a systematic evaluation and management of risks is critical.

About ANZ

Australian and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) is one of the major banks in Australia offering a vast array of financial services from retail to institutional banking. They are keen to expand their service portfolio from traditional financial solutions to decentralised finance (DeFi). ANZ is a pioneer in the DeFi space, being the first bank to mint a digital asset linked to the Australian dollar, the A$DC stablecoin. They are looking at novel services that can benefit from distributed ledger technology.
