CBDCs: An update on rationales for issuance and systemic design considerations
Last week CBDC Chair Tony Richards and DFCRC CEO Andreas Furche presented a new paper on CBDC at a conference co-sponsored by the RBA and the DFCRC.
The paper provides an end-2022 update on the state of play regarding the possible issuance of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) – with a focus on higher-income economies with good electronic payments systems.
